Green Cincinnati Plan
The 2023 Green Cincinnati Plan, championed by Mayor Aftab Pureval, sets a bold path for the city to cut carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Developed with input from over 3,700 residents through 40+ public meetings, the plan focuses on equity by ensuring frontline communities had a voice in shaping its priorities. It lays out 30 goals, 40 strategies, and 130 actions across eight areas—including clean energy, mobility, natural environment, food systems, and zero waste. The plan uses the ClimateView Dashboard to track progress in real time, making Cincinnati the first major U.S. city to adopt this transparent approach.
